Alyssa Leonhardt joined Brown, Goldstein & Levy in August 2018. Her practice focuses on family law, which includes divorce, custody, child support, and post-divorce disputes.
Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Alyssa clerked for the Honorable W. Michel Pierson, Circuit Administrative Judge, and Special Family Magistrate Andrea F. Kelly at the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
During law school, Alyssa worked as a law clerk at the Howard County Office of Law, where she observed numerous Child in Need of Assistance (CINA) proceedings while shadowing attorneys for the local Department of Social Services. Alyssa also participated in the Civil Rights of Persons with Disabilities law clinic, where she worked as a student attorney for the National Association of the Deaf and later supervised clinic students, and interned at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region III, where she negotiated on behalf of the agency to reach settlement agreements with two small businesses.
Prior to attending law school, Alyssa worked for three years at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP as a litigation paralegal at their headquarters office in Philadelphia. Alyssa is an active member of the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, where she serves on the Alumnae Advisory Committee and regularly volunteers for service projects in Baltimore City.
